Welcome to Milo’s Stories
Gentle, SEND inclusive books helping children feel safe, understood, and calm.
Meet Milo!
Milo feels things deeply.
Some mornings feel too loud. Some changes feel too big. Some days don’t go the way he hoped.
Milo is not broken. He is learning how to find calm in a world that does not always slow down.
The Milo series is written for children who experience big feelings, sensory overwhelm, anxiety, or simply feel things intensely.
These stories offer reassurance instead of correction. Understanding instead of fixing.
For Schools
The aim of the series is to support children in real classroom settings.
These stories offer gentle ways to explore big feelings, sensory overwhelm, change, and emotional regulation in a way that feels safe and inclusive.
Whether used during circle time, in SEND provision, or as part of wellbeing support, Milo helps open conversations that build understanding rather than correction.
Our School Resources include Printable Calm Page reflection sheets, Discussion prompts for circle time, SEND-friendly lesson extension ideas and more.
For parents & careers
Parenting a child who feels things deeply can be both beautiful and exhausting.
The Milo series is here to support you as much as your child.
These stories offer shared language for hard moments, gentle reassurance on overwhelming days, and practical tools you can use together at home.
You are not alone in navigating big feelings, and neither is your child.
Meet the Author
Jake Lines is the creator of Milo Stories, a series of gentle, reassuring books designed to help children navigate big feelings and overwhelming moments.
Although Jake has always had a passion for writing, he never quite knew what he wanted to write about until his son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social and General Anxiety, Sensory Processing Difficulty and other neurodivergent differences.
Like many parents, Jake began searching for books he could read alongside his child that would help explain emotions, life experiences, and everyday challenges in a way that felt safe and relatable.
While many books were available to help parents understand neurodiversity, Jake noticed a gap in stories that parents, carers, and children could explore together.
From that idea, Milo was born.
Milo Stories aim to help children feel seen, supported, and understood, particularly on the days when the world feels a little too loud or overwhelming.
Through Milo’s experiences, Jake hopes families can start conversations about emotions, reassurance, and finding calm together.
